kimberleylargeKimberley graduated from AUT with a BA in NZSL-English interpreting in 2016, and is currently part way through a business degree majoring in Management from Massey University. Kimberley was offered the Connect internship for 2017 and is delighted to be a part of the team.

Kimberley first became interested in NZSL interpreting after taking some NZSL night classes in Wellington in 2013. Those classes, and the Deaf community in Wellington sparked a passion which eventually turned into an application to study at AUT in 2014.

As a lifelong learner Kimberley has many short and long-term goals related to her future education and ongoing learning, including completing her Business Studies Degree, becoming proficient in Te Reo Maori, and undertaking post-graduate study in the interpreting field.

In addition to study interests, in her free time Kimberley is currently enjoying learning how to sew, and practicing yoga to keep active and to relax. Another of Kimberley’s long term goals is to become a qualified Yoga instructor, in the hopes of one day being able to provide an inclusive and accessible yoga class to the community.
